Counselling, Psychotherapy & Ecotherapy
Welcome to my virtual space! I am a qualified counsellor (MNCPS) offering psychotherapy with an ecological approach. I have a wide range of trainings and experience including supporting clients with grief, addiction and anxiety. My particular interests include climate-distress, Vegan experiences and working outdoors within and as part of Nature. I work with individuals in-person indoors, outdoors and online, and from time-to-time I run groups.

How often and how much?
Initially I offer one free session for you to see if you would feel comfortable working with me and to discuss what brings you to counselling. After this session, I usually recommend agreeing to work together for ten sessions, on a weekly basis usually at the same time. Each session lasts 50 minutes and costs £65.
Where can I have counselling?
I offer counselling sessions online, in person and outdoors in the Brighton & Hove area.
Outdoors usually takes place in quiet spaces in nearby nature, such as Hollingbury Woods, Stanmer Park, Ecotherapy Gardens Preston Park or along a quiet stretch of Brighton or Hove beach.
What are the Benefits of Outdoor Therapy?
Many people enjoy being outdoors in nature. Research shows that the more time spent outside in green or blue spaces the better the impact on stress levels. Natural environments such as woodlands or beaches provide a calming effect on the nervous system and help us to regulate our emotions. Furthermore, gentle walking and the visual and auditory stimulation can help us get back in touch with our bodies and listen to our ‘gut feelings’. Often trauma is often held in the body (Gabor Mate) and movement can help release this.
Many people find a walk and talk session less confrontative than sitting for an hour in a room with more direct eye contact etc.
